| I know this isn't really an issue in this community, but it is an interesting topic of discussion for those of us that are interested in the fucked-up mechanics of weapons in this game. Let me present to you this trend that I have just noticed:
Material 1 weapons seem immune to the price drop.
Within the past day I have seen 2 examples of this.
1. Cass/ Terminator's x3 corrosive Liquid Invader 2. chevro1et's Malevolent Stinger
If you have chest pics/ Craw drop pics and inventory pics of any weapon that did not drop in price feel free to post them here for analysis regarding my theory, and any other trends that may be revealed once a decent sample size of data has been collected. Again, any weapon by any manufacturer with the proper documentation is welcomed and encouraged to this investigation.

| My shattering bastard did not change, and A Ninjas Woody also posted an incendiary bastard (mat1 also) that didn't change. I picked up a material 3 Devastating Mongol with 1600ish damage yesterday, AND it was material 3, yet it didn't change. I'll try to get pics later. And I agree, this thing is fucking annoying because sometimes it makes it hard to prove your weapon as legitimate (craw drops). | |

| As far as pics go to show examples I see a trend. But if Cass mat_3 Mongol's value from chest to inventory does not change it "bucks" the limited trend posted as of now. | |

| do mat 1 bitches count? gotta find this in my inventory to see if the price changed. posted it in find of the day back in May, but that pic was a little cut off. hmm by the pic it must be on my soldier EDIT: finally tracked that bitch down. it's on my siren. inventory pic, non-equipped (though the price would have changed by now anyway): | |

| I have done our armory runs, picking up every legendary weapon I have found so that I can compare it in these material tests. Forgive my camera, it's not the best (inventory pics seem to be lighter). Here are the results, and they are extremely conclusive: | |

| Seems that duncanfogg (the guy that built the GearCalc) did a little legwork of his own and has come up with the following conclusion... - Quote :
- Using your numbers, I've figured out how this works and why. Mat 2s and mat 3s usually have an attribute modifier that should add 1 or 2 to the weapon level, respectively. BUT this is a broken modifier. It works when the gun is on the ground--that is the price it should be. However, when you pick it up, it ignores the modifier that says to add 1 or 2 to the level.
If you use the standard cost calculation formula for BL, level differences of 2 (for instance), result in a 1.3456X increase to the price--sound familiar?
Also, I believe there are a few other parts that are non-materials floating about that also exhibit this. Ok, just checked. The price of guns of most guns with unique materials will theoretically behave like mat 2s when picked up. Some of the newer guns, like all the Knoxx ones I've seen will behave like mat3s.
